The Campaign for Drawing has one aim: to get everyone drawing!

Every October over 1200 UK venues, from scout huts and schools to national museums and palaces, take part in The Big Draw. This annual programme demonstrates that drawing is the perfect medium for learning, observation, self-expression and fun. Wide-ranging events and themes span the arts and sciences, proving that drawing can be an enjoyable public activity as well as a private passion.

Members may recall joining in the 'Big Draw Events that tool place around the South Ken museums in Exhibition Road a couple of years ago.... you may remember the events that also took place in the College itself! It was great to see the College filled with kids of all ages drawing with the accompaniment of rock and jazz musicians.

So put 10 October Big Draw Day 2009 in your Diary and keep some time free to draw throughout the summer at drawing tuition classes held during the summer at the College (check the RCA website for details and fees).

From July you can also search for The Big Draw nearest to you..

The Campaign for Drawing took its initial inspiration from the visionary Victorian artist and writer, John Ruskin, who drew in order to see the world more clearly.

Drawing helps us to think, invent and communicate – regardless of age and ability.
