RCA Show 2018 Kensington
From the entrances at Albert Hall to Jay Mews the RCA opened their doors to works from Design Interactions, Design Products, ICL/RCA Global Innovation Design, ICL/RCA Innovation Design Engineering, Service Design, Sculpture, Textiles, Vehicle Design and Schools of Design and Arts & Humanities Research Programmes. This exhilerating exhibition filled every floor of the Darwin, Frayling and Stevens buildings and was a marathon effort to see everything, and was both good exercise, intellectually, as well as for the heart and legs! A great opportunity to bump into old friends from the College and the world of Art & Design.

RCA Show 2018 Fashion
2018 RCA Fashion Show, Zowie Broach (Head of RCA Fashion School) led us into a ‘Walk without a Cat…’ which continued to mark the gradual shift away from the slick cool ‘fashion house shows’ which the RCA was famous for. The audience were confronted with a theatrical choreography of apocolyptic body wear and hooded ninjas interspersed with a familiar elegance, echoing the stripped out building 'under construction' at 180 The Strand. The show was an amalgamation of diverse and often contradictory elements and thoughtful social statements which raised more questions than gave answers about the chaotic and disparate times we are experiencing.
The Fashion Show leads off the season of RCA graduate Shows which take place in June/July. As the numbers of College graduates increase and the schools expand into the Kensington, Battersea, and White City Campuses, the shows too are spreading into alternative venues across London. See the RCA website for specific details about the SHOW 2018.
