Alison Wilding exhibition
New Art Centre East Winterslow, Salisbury
10 September - 6 November 2011
RCA Society members took a day trip to the New Art Centre in the Wiltshire countryside.
Our main reason to visit the centre was to see an exhibition of works by Alison Wilding "How the Land Lies".

RCA Fashion Show 2011
RCA Fashion 12 June 2011
The RCA graduates fashion show is one of the key markers of where 'fashion' is - or will be. Hanging on to the traditional accolade of being the best show on the block is a tough call but the RCA graduating students' fashion show always manages to be visually stunning, technically challenging, and provides plenty of memorable 'fashion statements'. A mix of men's and women's wear across various genres - sprinklings of knitwear, practical wear, fantasy wear, head wear, footwear, extrawear, - all marking out a range of life styles. From crazy hip hop juveniles to elegant "mega buck" grand dames, from boyish cartoons to androgynous creatures.
RCA Design Show 2011
The Fashion School ushered in the design shows at the Jay Mews and Stephens buildings. Whilst the music faded the schools of fine art were showing 'down in Battersea' at the same time as the Design faculties filled the Galleries in Kensington to bursting point. The grandeur of ''Automative design' and 'Architecture' jostled with the intimacy of textiles, ceramics, precious metalworks and jewelry as a video of the Fashion Show ran alongside a foot relieving hour and half programme of animations.
RCA Fine Art Shows 2011
Fine Art: Sculpture - Painting - Printmaking - Photography
This was the first year that ‘Fine Art’ Degree shows took place in the new purpose built Studios in the College’s Battersea campus*. All these disciplines converged in Howie Street - merging practice boundaries and interspersing performance and zany kinetic installations with the more traditional wall works and static monoliths.
John Kaine "Artists Talk" at EventSpace
LEXICART: word as object
An exhibition of word art presented in the form of dry cleaning. There are two original aspects to this exhibition the first being the word as art itself and the second dry cleaning as the form of presentation. There is some historical precedent for words as art objects both in mediaeval illuminated manuscripts in Europe and in Islamic texts. The "Artists Talk" event took place on Wednesday evening - 4 May 2011.
